This Wood Expanding Table design by Con Form Lab
is more than just your average expanding dining table. An exercise that
takes the craft of simple joinery and fuses it with the modern and
precise technology of CNC milling, the Sullivan/Barnes dining table is a
beautiful and practical piece that throws back to the American Arts and Crafts Movement which placed simplicity, elegance and quality in construction above all.
This table has been built from birch and maple plywood and features sliding
joinery, which not only heightens the beauty of the table, but creates a
much more sturdy construction. The joining system allows the table to
extend from a six seat surface to one able to host ten. The joinery
follows the simple sliding idea as seen on an escalator, but expertly
executed via CNC.
