Navajo Horsehair and Metallic Pot
from smithsonian
6"h. x 8"dia.
Dina Willie of New Mexico’s Navajo pueblo creates this one-of-a-kind
ceramic pottery. Genuine horsehair is placed on the mold-shaped and
kiln-heated to create intricate designs. Hair from the mane makes finer
lines; hair from the tail makes thicker lines. Next the pot is hand
etched and painted with metallic pigments.
