The city of Wembley will have a spiraling new student housing tower powered by solar panels. Located close to Wembley Stadium, this multi-tiered tower designed by London-based CZWG will contain 435 student rooms.
The solar-powered tower is part of a planned redevelopment that will help regenerate and enhance the local urban landscape.
The student housing tower was reportedly turned down by the local planning inspectors until adequate changes were made to the design. Now the new design has been accepted and is well received. One of the local inspectors said, “The proposed building is of an outstanding architectural and urban design quality.” The 20-storey tower is comprised of three separate wings surrounding a central tower. Each wing is a different height in order to blend in smoothly to neighboring buildings.
This tower will also feature a large front lobby and entrance, a launderette, management offices and lots of bike parking. Two landscape areas will provide students and local residents a place to gather and sit outdoors.
