‘Moonjelly Corona’ pendant light by Limpalux

Originally designed in 2009, Limpalux’s ‘Moonjelly’ lamp series was awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in the ‘Product Design’ category.
‘Moonjelly Corona’ is the latest addition to the award-winning series of sculptural pendulum lights designed by Anja Eder and Michael Römer – the designer duo behind Limpalux. Following the concept of the initial ‘Moonjelly’ model, this circular organically-shapped light is made of gill-like paper slats which ‘enwrap the light source and allow the light to flow down.’

By playing with the optical properties of the Japanese Shoji paper, ‘Moonjelly Corona’ is sensitive to the incident light while the downward-facing slatted body of the lamp creates a soft ‘animated, gently re-swinging sculpture’.
