The Swimming Pool by Argentine artist Leandro Erlich, is an
extraordinary installation, with visual humor. The disorienting long
term installation was exhibited for about 2 years at MoMa PS1
Contemporary Art Center in New York, in the unique double height Duplex
Gallery. When approached from the first floor, visitors would see fully
clothed people, walking and breathing below the surface of the water.
It's only when visitors enter the Duplex gallery from the basement that
they recognize the pool is empty. It's very amusing!
